Quick Bird Feeder From a Milk Carton

I always wanted a bird feeder, but they are very expensive to buy, so I roamed the Internet in search of some cool DIY bird feeders. A lot of different ideas, and inspired by them I made something similar this morning.

It took me 5 minutes and all you need is a milk carton, a string and a knife.

Cut the opening and make a little hole in a plastic top.

Thread the yarn/string through the hole in the top and then both ends through the hole in the top of the carton.

I like the tilt because when the bird will actually sit on the edge its weight will even out the feeder.

I bought bird seeds at Walmart 10 lb bag for $6. I also put bread crumbs in it instead of just throwing them away.

Hang it outside and wait for the birds to come eat. And don’t forget to take pictures or draw the birds you see:)

Of course you can decorate it and turn it into a snow day projects with your kids. Just do the prep work with a knife and let them design the rest.

Have fun!
